Zoey Archer dreams of starting a botanical skincare line, but she has more experience messing just about everything up. In an attempt to help her sister breed her valuable show dog with another dog in Seattle, Zoey gets stranded in the Chicago airport during one of the worst winter storms ever. Craft-brewer Cameron MacNeil is also stranded en route to Seattle. The two team up and navigate a seemingly endless chain of transportation options and foibles to get them to their destinations … all while falling in love. Readers can’t help but root for these two. This book reads like a road-trip-from-hell romantic comedy, and is perfectly delightful from start to finish.

Heather MacAllister delivers yet another fun, sexy romance in TAKEN BY STORM. I read this one in a single day. Couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between Cam and Zoey is undeniable, and the story is fun, yet suspenseful…as severe weather situations can often be…except the stakes are exceptionally high for the hero and heroine. Zoey is stuck in an awful job, but has ambitions to start her own organic skincare line. In an attempt to prove to others, and to herself, that she can be reliable, she offers to escort her sister’s Afghan Hound across the country to breed with the esteemed Alexandra of Thebes. But fate has other plans for Zoey, and the plans seem unusually cold (pun intended) when a recordbreaking blizzard leaves her stranded at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport. Fate also has an apparent soft spot for romance as it pairs Zoey with Cam – a craft brewery owner with serious ambitions of his own – in their mutually urgent need to get to Seattle. The result: a perilous road trip you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy, and true desire that triumphs over setbacks along the way.
Heather takes the most awful travel scenario imaginable and turns it into an opportunity for romance and redemption. TAKEN BY STORM delivers plenty of hold-yourbreath moments, a merciful dose of laugh-out-loud moments, and, of course, several expertly crafted “aww” moments. I highly recommend!
